“Choosing not to choose”: Preferences for various uses of recycled water

In addition to promoting conservation, the use of recycled water offers numerous environmental benefits and can also provide a sustainable supply for municipal, industrial, agricultural sectors. However, there are members public who express their concerns over adoption water. This research employs an in-person field study, which combines incentive-compatible decision task detailed survey questionnaire, analyze respondent's preferences versus conventional across three different uses. Data was collected from 600 participants in North American cities with varying local drought-conditions. We observe that abundant regions not less likely preference Results suggest slogan conservation be effective dissuading environmentally-poor closer-contact Additionally, our results many individuals, especially those evidence pro-environmental attitudes, uncertain type preference. Thus, initiatives need consider only people explicitly state as potential adopters but should recognize these persons. Extending de facto definition “potential adopter” could have extensive success initiatives.
